Interlift 2019: Introduction of DigiPara Liftdesigner Cloud
DigiPara Liftdesigner Cloud permits rapid elevator planning using manufacturer-provided BIM components
More and more architects demand 3D BIM models of elevators in addition to 2D drawings. DigiPara is now offering a new platform to directly use suitable components in elevator planning and construction.
At this year’s Interlift (15–18 October 2019), DigiPara is once again presenting itself as the Building Information Modelling (BIM) expert in elevator construction, with software solutions for planning and configuring elevators and escalators.
Different LOD & LOI levels instead of STEP data
Choosing the right components for their elevators often overwhelms elevator companies and planners due to an increasingly broad range. DigiPara is providing a new platform for choosing the right products in a targeted manner. Manufacturers upload their current 3D BIM data to the DigiPara Liftdesigner Cloud and grant access to all elevator planners and builders around the world.
This saves the costly preparation and sending of STEP models that cannot be configured by the user and contain no LOI data. With DigiPara Liftdesigner Cloud, elevator planners can also use different Levels of Information (LOI) in the BIM data including main features, item numbers or technical documentation. This is automatically added all the way into the final elevator model for the architects.
Pre-defined and automatic Levels of Development (LOD) provide additional support to simplified models for quick preliminary planning. The component features can be edited at any time and a complete 3D BIM model can be exported to IFC 4.0 format.
Standardization in the elevator sector: a major opportunity for component manufacturers
DigiPara has observed increasing standardization in elevator planning, as large industry players such as Schindler, thyssenkrupp and Otis work globally with DigiPara software. Third-party components are often used during renovation and in special constructions. Components that are on offer in the DigiPara Liftdesigner Cloud can be conveniently built into plans, which supports component sales.

Target groups 100% covered
In total, there have been more than 8,000 installations of DigiPara Liftdesigner worldwide – this includes small and medium business subscribers as well as users of the Free Edition. All users have free access to the components provided from manufacturers.
Even users of the DigiPara Liftdesigner Free Edition have access to the DigiPara Liftdesigner Cloud, meaning that component manufacturers can reach 100% of their target groups.
DigiPara: the perfect BIM workflow
Various BIM requirements must be taken into account to ensure a secure supply chain. Loading the building’s CAD model into DigiPara Liftdesigner displays the precise building structures. New export options for the 3D BIM model allows the BIM feature data to be adapted to different LOD and LOI levels using pre-defined COBie parameters or IFC 4.0 export.
The BIM experts from DigiPara will be presenting all the current software’s functions at Interlift in Augsburg on 15–17 October at Hall 7, booth 7133.
