Automatic BIM-models for innovative tke-MULTI elevator

Breakthrough for building design:

DigiPara’s automatic BIM-creation enables early integration of ropeless mobility solution MULTI by thyssenkrupp Elevator

  • New software enables 3D model configuration with only a few clicks
  • The DigiPara lift designer designs and plans complete MULTI-installations
  • Architect’s requests for BIM models answered by just one push of a button

BIM models for MULTI

From now on, the innovative ropeless MULTI elevator system by thyssenkrupp Elevator can be integrated into constructions as a BIM model through the DigiPara lift designer. The models can be uploaded precisely into 3D building models. Therewith, the revolutionary elevator system can be fitted perfectly into buildings and hence offers a higher planning reliability as well as significantly more comprehensive detailed information even in an early stage of construction planning. Moreover, it ensures fast delivery of the data respectively the corresponding models.

The new DigiPara offering once again shows the importance of a subtle interaction of physical technologies, such as the linear motor principle, and digital solutions. Contemporary digitized configuration and development tools underline the potential of innovative solutions and deliver a bunch of new options to building developers. For example, building planning and installation of MULTI systems can happen at the same time from now on – for a significantly shorter development phase.

A crucial part is DigiPara‘s user-friendliness and practicability. The solution combines efficient module components with a high standardization level as well as an easy handling in the context of an early potential assessment. The cooperation with the leading software house also contributes to the solution’s high maturity grade.

IFC and COBie parameters

by using the DigiPara lift designer, elevator manufacturers can automate 3D-BIM models as well as system drawings. Through pre-defined parameters, components, and logics the intelligent elevator configurator ensures the particularly efficient planning and configuration of elevators and escalators. The DigiPara software allows for the configuration as 3D models with just a few clicks. The models can be exported as IFC file for different LOD and LOI levels where the BIM characteristics can be edited. The use of pre-defined COBie parameters is possible as well.

DigiPara BIM Automation Service

DigiPara has been cooperating with thyssenkrupp Elevator on several continents for a long time. The company’s software automatically generates system drawings and BIM models for elevator ranges such as Evolution, Synergy, TWIN, and Single Deck. In January 2020, DigiPara was assigned the automation of MULTI and was able to successfully realize the project within six months – among others by using the special and adapted MULTI dialog for horizontal routes.

MULTI by thyssenkrupp Elevator

MULTI by thyssenkrupp Elevator is the world’s first ropeless elevator for high-rise buildings. It combines several independent cabins in a single shaft. The cabins move horizontally as well as vertically. That means significantly shorter waiting times, a higher capacity, a lower space requirement, and less weight. The linear motor system is heralding a new age of indoor mobility for buildings and urban centers.

The automation allows for a quick creation of 3D BIM models but also for 2D system drawings of a complete MULTI installation. Therewith, architect’s requests can be answered almost immediately, and there are many further – yet undiscovered – options for the realization of tomorrow’s cities. In consequence, MULTI can play out its multiple advantages even better
